First run in 1766, the Grand St Leger is the oldest recognisable horse race in the World. Doncaster racecourse hosts the St Leger every September, when the town attracts racing enthusiasts from all over the globe.
The racecourse has developed into one of the UK's premier exhibition centres and is host to numerous events. Currently closed for a multi-million pound rebuild it is due to reopen in 2007.
